We are looking for a highly detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Medical Scriber. In this essential clinical documentation support role, you will work alongside healthcare providers to accurately capture patient encounters, ensuring timely and thorough electronic health record (EHR) documentation.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately document patient histories, physical exams, diagnostic assessments, treatment plans, and provider-patient interactions during real-time clinical encounters.
- Ensure that all entries are completed thoroughly and promptly in the electronic health record (EHR) system, following established documentation guidelines and protocols.
- Review and update records based on provider feedback; assist with clarifying information and ensuring legibility and completeness.
- Support providers by managing relevant clinical documentation needs, such as order entry and referral tracking, under appropriate supervision and in accordance with clinical policies.
- Organize and file supporting patient documentation, including diagnostic reports and test results, to maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
- Monitor documentation workflow and help optimize EHR use for provider efficiency and regulatory compliance.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information and comply with HIPAA and healthcare data privacy requirements.
- Participate in regular team meetings, staff training, and feedback sessions to support continuous improvement of quality documentation practices.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of college-level coursework in health sciences or a related field is a plus.
- Previous experience as a medical scribe, healthcare assistant, or in a clinical documentation role preferred but not required; training will be provided.
- Proficiency in typing, electronic health record (EHR) systems, and standard office applications (Word, Excel, email).
- A working knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and basic clinical procedures is strongly preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills, keen attention to detail, and commitment to accuracy in all documentation tasks.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to ensure precise recording and collaboration with care teams.
- Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced clinical environment while maintaining focus and professionalism.
- Reliable, proactive, and able to maintain confidentiality and discretion at all times.
- Team-oriented, with a willingness to learn and contribute positively to the healthcare environment.
- Bilingual or multilingual skills are an asset but not required.
