Role Description

We are seeking a highly detail-oriented Medical Notetaker with a strong medical background and near-native English proficiency to join our remote team. In this role, you will be responsible for listening to and documenting clinical encounters between physicians and patients, ensuring accurate and timely entry of medical notes into the electronic health record (EHR) system.

This is a back-office role – there will be no direct interaction with patients. Your primary responsibility is to create accurate, clear, and concise medical documentation that supports the physician in providing high-quality care.

Key Responsibilities

Accurately transcribe medical notes into the EHR system.

Ensure all documentation meets legal, ethical, and institutional standards.

Understand and use medical terminology appropriately.

Collaborate with the healthcare team to clarify any inconsistencies in documentation.

Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information (HIPAA compliance).

Qualifications

 Near-native English proficiency – exceptional listening, comprehension, and writing skills.

Solid understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and clinical processes.

Proven ability to produce clear, accurate, and grammatically correct written documentation in English.

Strong typing skills and familiarity with transcription or documentation tools.

Experience with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems is preferred.

Prior experience as a medical scribe, transcriptionist, or healthcare documentation specialist is a plus.

Ability to work independently and maintain high attention to detail under tight deadlines.

Commitment to patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance or similar privacy standards.

Excellent time management and organizational skills.
