Lien Resolution
The Lien Resolution Specialist is responsible for managing, negotiating, and resolving medical liens in support of the firm’s cases.
This role requires strong negotiation skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate closely with internal teams and external medical providers to achieve timely and cost-effective lien resolutions in the best interest of both the client and the firm.
Responsibilities:
Prepare, submit, and follow up on lien abatement and reduction requests with healthcare providers and medical suppliers.
Negotiate directly with providers and suppliers to reduce lien amounts, acting in the best interest of the client and the firm, and obtaining required authorization from Managers in the main office.
Collaborate closely with case managers to align lien resolution strategies with overall case management objectives.
Serve as the primary liaison between the firm and outside creditors, maintaining professional and consistent communication.
Track, document, and maintain detailed records of all negotiations, communications, and agreements with medical providers and other involved parties.
Provide regular updates on assigned files, including email follow-ups, lien status changes, and transmission of approved reductions to the appropriate creditors.
Ensure all lien-related documentation is accurately uploaded, updated, and maintained in the firm’s CRM system.
Request and obtain medical payment waivers from clients when necessary to support lien resolution efforts.
Identify, escalate, and assist in resolving disputes or conflicts related to liens, payments, or provider claims.
Maintain up-to-date supplier contact information, billing details, and payment instructions to ensure accurate and timely processing.
Requirements:
Strong negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
High attention to detail with a strong focus on documentation accuracy.
Ability to manage multiple files and deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of lien processes, medical billing practices, and provider negotiations.
Proficiency in case management systems, CRM platforms, and external portals.
Collaborative mindset with a strong client-focused and firm-focused approach.
