Legal Assistant
Support attorneys and legal teams with case management, client intake, legal documents, research, medical records, scheduling, and daily administrative tasks in a fast-paced legal environment.
We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized Legal Assistant to provide administrative and case management support to attorneys, case managers, and paralegals. The ideal candidate will assist with legal documentation, client communication, medical records, case research, scheduling, and other tasks that help move cases efficiently toward resolution.
This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and a professional approach when communicating with clients, legal professionals, medical providers, and other parties.
Responsibilities:
Assist attorneys, case managers, and paralegals with legal research, document preparation, medical inquiries, medical record management, and general case management support.
Manage, organize, and maintain incoming and existing legal documents, case files, and correspondence.
Perform client intake calls, gather relevant information, and accurately document case details.
Conduct factual investigations and gather relevant information to support attorneys, case managers, and paralegals in advancing cases toward resolution.
Coordinate communication between clients, attorneys, medical providers, court personnel, and other relevant parties.
Maintain and update attorney and case calendars, including appointments, meetings, hearings, deadlines, and other important case dates.
Schedule appointments and follow up on outstanding tasks, requests, and deadlines.
Assist with obtaining, organizing, and following up on medical records, bills, and other case-related documentation.
Perform data entry and ensure case information is accurate and up to date in internal systems.
Provide phone support and respond to client or third-party inquiries in a professional and timely manner.
Organize electronic and physical files according to established procedures.
Track pending items and follow up with relevant parties to ensure cases continue progressing.
Maintain confidentiality when handling client information, legal documents, medical information, and other sensitive case materials.
Perform other administrative and case support duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Previous experience as a Legal Assistant, Legal Secretary, Case Assistant, or in a similar legal support role.
Experience working in a law firm or legal environment is preferred.
Familiarity with legal documents, case files, legal terminology, and basic legal processes.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to manage multiple cases, tasks, and deadlines simultaneously.
Experience supporting Personal Injury (PI) cases or other civil litigation matters.
Experience handling medical records, medical bills, provider communications, or treatment-related documentation.
