Claims Manager
Are you ready to take ownership of the financial and coverage side of personal injury cases? We’re looking for a Claims Manager to join our law firm team!
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Claims Manager to manage coverage, carriers, billing, and liens for our personal injury cases. In this role, you will work in a two-person pod alongside a Case Manager to uncover all available insurance coverage, build the damages record, and protect the client’s net recovery while maintaining precision and persistence throughout every step.
Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary point of contact for insurance carriers by maintaining up-to-date adjuster information, logging correspondence, and tracking claim statuses.
Identify all available first- and third-party coverage, including Med Pay, UM/UIM, declaration pages, policy limits, and additional coverage under non-named insured drivers.
Protect client net recovery by identifying health insurance, provider, government, and workers' compensation liens early, setting up subrogation claims, and disputing improper charges.
Maintain complete accuracy in billing spreadsheets and management systems, confirming billed amounts, payments, adjustments, and balances to the dollar.
Prepare comprehensive damage records by ordering outstanding bills/records, obtaining property damage documentation, securing witness statements, and escalating liability or coverage issues promptly.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.
2+ years of experience in insurance claims, personal injury coverage, medical billing, subrogation, or lien resolution (adjuster-side experience is a strong advantage).
Solid working knowledge of auto coverage structures (liability, Med Pay, UM/UIM, policy limits, declaration pages) and health-plan/government lien processes (Medi-Cal, Medicare, TriCare, private insurance).
Strong numerical accuracy and comfort working with ledgers, billing spreadsheets, and balance reconciliations.
Proficiency with legal case management software (Filevine strongly preferred) and Microsoft Excel.
Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
