Medical Records
We are seeking a reliable, detail‑oriented, and organized professional to join our team as a Medical Records Specialist.
This vital role supports our healthcare practice by maintaining the highest standards in medical recordkeeping, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations, and safeguarding patient information.
You will collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality of all patient records.
Responsibilities
Accurately create, maintain, and update patient medical records in both electronic health record (EHR) systems and paper files as needed.
Review and verify patient information to ensure all documentation meets regulatory standards and organizational protocols.
Retrieve, release, and transmit medical records in accordance with HIPAA laws and internal guidelines for record security and privacy.
Assist clinicians and administrative staff by locating, copying, and distributing medical records and related information as requested.
Conduct periodic audits of health records for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with health information policies.
Collaborate with billing and insurance teams on record verification to support claims processing and authorizations.
Requirements
Experience working with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems or health information technology in a medical setting is strongly preferred.
Solid understanding of HIPAA regulations and a strong commitment to patient privacy and confidentiality.
Excellent organizational and recordkeeping skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong written and verbal communication skills for clear documentation and collaboration with teams.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and general office equipment.
Ability to prioritize multiple requests, manage time effectively, and adapt to changing healthcare needs.
Demonstrated initiative, problem‑solving skills, and a proactive approach to tasks.
Experience in medical office administration, medical billing, or healthcare support roles is an advantage.
